Land Use

Land cover and impervious surfaces are tracked by the University of Minnesota’s Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analysis Laboratory, which provides detailed state and local records. Additional years of records are available upon request.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation provides data on vehicle miles traveled by county as well as by surface type and route system. 

Water

Data about local watersheds is available from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The National Weather Service also provides including real time stream flow data from the Cannon River at Northfield.
