In-text citations

ACM

Enclose the last name of the first author and the year of publication in brackets, for example: [Zawistoski 2015].  If there are two authors use both last names: [Zawistoski and Gwinn 2015]. If there are more than two authors, use the first author's last name and "et al": [Zawistoski et al. 2015].

IEEE

Cite the number of the reference in a square bracket inside of punctuation: "previous studies [1] and [2] have shown..." The references should be listed in the bibliography in the order in which they appear, which means that you may need to re-order them as you edit your text.
