COVID-19 Update: Although the Gould Library building remains closed, the library staff continue our commitment to support the teaching and research needs of the Carleton community. Information on remote access to library resources and services will be updated regularly on the Remote Resources and Guidance for Library Users page and this FAQ. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need additional assistance.
Sometimes an article from Google Scholar will direct you to Wiley Online Library. For this database there are a few steps before you can access the article on the site. This guide will walk you through that process.
Accessing Wiley Articles
There is one exception to using the FindIt Button for articles: articles published by Wiley are all available through a different access system.
Find the article online using your favorite internet search engine or by searching Wiley Online Library (You must either be on campus or use this link to Wiley so that Wiley knows you are affiliated with Carleton.)
Click the big orange button labeled "Get access" or "Get access to the full text of this article."
On the confirmation page, click "Confirm"
Download the PDF so that you will have perpetual access.
(The online access through the Wiley website will expire after 24 hours. Also, Carleton pays for the article every time you download it after the first 24 hours, so download it only once if at all possible.)
