Style guides are books or web pages detailing how authors should cite sources in a given discipline. There are often styles that are specific to a journal, in addition to those you might have used in previous courses like APA (American Psychological Association), Chicago (Chicago Manual of Style) or MLA (Modern Language Association). 

A few styles are listed on this page including some more commonly used styles and some that are specific to computer science. For the paper you'll be writing, the style you use is up to you. But, you need to be consistent with your citation style choice. This includes both in-text citation and a corresponding reference list. Fortunately, a lot of the busy work of citing sources is easily solved by using a tool like Zotero to support your research. Please ask your librarian if you have any citation questions. 

Each of the following citation styles has a book in the Ready Reference Collection. In addition to using Zotero to generate these citation styles, seek guidance on specific citation questions and format types from the Ready Reference Collection. For example, citing a book chapter looks different than citing a whole book.
