Catalyst -- The Library Catalog

When you want to search for books and government documents in the Carleton and St. Olaf libraries (excluding article-level works), you'll want to use the "Books" tab of Catalyst from the library homepage,

or, since you're here, just use the search box below.

Books & eBooks

Where Are Books on Aging?

Sometimes the best way to explore is to browse the library stacks. You can find books on aging in several places but especially at the call numbers:

  • HQ 1060-1064
  • QP 85-86 (biology of aging)

Tips for Finding Books

Search the catalog by topic keyword, location, author, or subject heading, but also remember:

  • Search for authors that you already know
  • Search both the Catalyst and WorldCat to go beyond our collection
  • Consult Google Books before requesting in ILL to see if the book is one you really want
  • Take advantage of full-text keyword searching, tables of contents and indexes visible in Google Books to help you find books you then search for in the Catalyst to get your hands on a copy
  • Find books using bibliographies of items you already have
  • Reference books provide highly selective bibliographies -- ask a librarian for a recommendation.
