The resources below will connect you to international, national, and local newspapers, as well as to leading magazines such as The Economist or The Atlantic. News articles help you stay up-to-date on current affairs, allow you to track prior events as they unfolded, and can often connect you to experts on a particular topic (by following up on who an author might interview for insight on the event being covered).
The New York Times' Opinion section publishes "Guest Essays," written by contributors who are typically experts or practitioners in a relevant field, or have first-hand experience of the topic under discussion. These can be useful for gaining perspective as well as getting ideas of what people or institutions to consider for more information.
The Times also publishes "News Analysis" pieces in their news sections. While not straightforward reporting or opinion, authors of these pieces typically rely on the work of scholars and experts to exam and analyze complex current events.
