Limits of Carleton's Collections

Those of you researching financial topics will quickly run up against the limits of Carleton's collections. There is some possibility to take advantage of collaborations with nearby institutions such as the University of Minnesota and the James J. Hill Library in St. Paul. However, even so, many financial resources have very restrictive licenses which strictly limit them to members of the institution where they are housed. Sometimes you even have to be a current student registered in a business class. The following commonly cited resources are not available to you through Carleton. Contact Sean about potential other means for accessing resources like these.

  • Bloomberg
  • Compustat
  • CRSP and other WRDS datasets
  • Datastream
  • Thomson Financial
