Reference materials can provide a vital introduction to concepts. Typically written by experts, often with good bibliographies, a reference entry offer an overview of important ideas, theories, and thinkers within a discipline, offering clarification for complex phenomena and (occasionally) an overview of the trajectory how a phenomenon has been studied over time. To find a relevant reference entry, use the Material Type facet in your Catalyst search results (usually, you have to click "Show More"). The search results will list the title of the reference entry and the title of the reference work ("Encyclopedia of...") where it is found.
