Types of Questions Students Bring to Librarians

Here are a few ideas of the kinds of questions students ask me in appointments:

  • I've never used the library before...how do I start?
  • My paper is due in a few weeks and I don't know what to do first...can I talk it through with you?
  • I have a general topic, but don't know how realistic it is. How do I figure that out?
  • I thought there would be lots of research, but I can't find much. How do I improve my search?
  • There's too much research and I don't know how to narrow it down. Can you help me?
  • How do I access a specific journal article, book, or other publication I'm interested in?
  • My professor suggested using Zotero. What's that?
