Alumni Information and Services

A guide for Carleton alumni (and soon-to-be alumni) about library services.

Do you have my comps?

The Library holds a limited number of comps projects, links to which are listed below. However, in most cases a comps project has not been archived at the Library unless the author has provided it.

  • Geology comps from 1972 to the present and Physics comps from 1978-2013 are available in the Library's general stacks
  • The College Archives holds a selection of comps projects provided directly by academic departments
  • The Library also manages Carleton Digital Commons, an online repository of academic works that includes comps projects submitted by students

With the exception of Geology and Physics comps found in the general stacks, access to the full text of a comps project is restricted to the original author, Carleton faculty, and designated Carleton staff members.

If your comps project is not found in the general stacks, the College Archives, or the Digital Commons Repository, your academic department may have a copy that they can share with you.

Archive your Comps

Perks of Archiving your Comps:

  • Permanent: This archive will preserve your work for the future as well as make it available for you should you ever lose your own files.
  • Discoverable: The archived copy in Carleton Digital Commons can act as the permanent discoverable online version that you can refer to for future applications to graduate school or employment opportunities.
