Use reference books to get a sense of how scholars have framed and studied issues in this area. The bibliographies in the library's specialized reference books lead to some of the most relevant books and articles. Beyond those, the library catalog and journal indexes and abstracts you may want to search for books and articles (respectively) by keyword or topic. A substantial amount of research can also be found on the open web as published by research organizations and NGOs. To find these, use specialized Google searches and browse the sites listed here.
Search the catalog for books on your topic. Below are some subject headings commonly used to describe books on migrations and diaspora. Combine these subject terms with keywords closer to your topic. Talk to a librarian for help.
