The National Center for Education Statistics is a rich source of education data on the national and state level. Most local education data is collected and distributed by state agencies, primarily the Department of Education. This page highlights the following:

School Report Card - Northfield Public School District
Minnesota Department of Education web site provides "Report Cards" for districts and for individual schools. Report cards bring together current data on test scores, staffing information, and provides graphics and links for comparison with other districts and schools within the state. Below are some highlights.

Test Scores - Northfield Public School District
Accountability data in the "Assessment and Growth Files" are available for districts and schools from 1998 to the present. Reports are available in Excel and tab-delimted formats (note that the tab files often contain more detail). Files include test scores for the following:

Aggregate statistics about students (at the district and often school levels) from the Minnesota Department of Education are available for the most recent years in Excel format on the following topics:

- Minnesota Student SurveyAdministered every three years since 1989, the Minnesota Student Survey asks about youth behaviors, both positive and associated with risk. From 1989-2010, students in grades 6, 9, and 12 were surveyed. From 2013 on, it changed to grades 5, 8, 9, and 11. Students are asked about their behaviors around a number of topics, including tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use; nutrition; physical activity; sexual behavior; school safety; mental health; and relationships.

National Center for Education Statistics
The NCES maintains the Common Core of Data (CCD) collected from every public school in the country. Data shown includes directory information, total students, classroom teachers FTE, student/teacher ratio, enrollment by grade, race/ethnicity, and gender, number free/reduced-price lunch eligible, and directly certified.
