Ebook Central (by ProQuest) is a Carleton resource for academic ebooks. Ebook Central allows users to read ebooks either in their browser or to download the file for reading on other devices. Ebook Central titles can be searched directly in Catalyst and are generally available to multiple users at once.

Where can I find Ebook Central?

You can always find a link to the library's Ebook Central subscription on the "Databases" tab on the library website. By linking to Ebook Central through the library website, you ensure that you are using our subscription.

Ebook Central:

Ebook Central is a Carleton resource for academic ebooks. Ebook Central allows users to read ebooks either in their browser, or to download the file for reading on other devices*.

Fast facts:

  • Downloads available as either EPUB or PDF files
  • A title may be downloaded to only 1 device at a time
  • You may download up to 10 titles at once
  • Once downloaded, titles are available for 14 days. At that point, the file will expire and will no longer be accessible. PDF downloads, however, do not expire. Downloads of PDF files may be limited to 60 pages or fewer at one time.
  • Access titles through the library catalog (you’ll need your Carleton username/password to download the ebook).
  • Ebook Central offers highlighting, annotation, and other tools, but using them requires you to create an account using your Carleton username and password.
