What are ACLS Humanities books?

ACLS Humanities books are ebooks made available through the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). These books may only be read within a web browser. ACLS Humanities books can be searched directly in Catalyst, or on the ACLS Humanities E-Book platform itself.

Where can I find ACLS Humanities E-Book?

You can always find a link to the library's ACLS Humanities E-Book subscription on the "Databases" tab on the library website. By linking to ACLS Humanities E-Book through the library website, you ensure that you are using our subscription.

ACLS Humanities E-Book Fast Facts

ACLS Humanities ebooks will appear in the “All Results” search in Catalyst as well as under a separate “Books” tab. Ebooks can be read in your browser or individual chapters downloaded as PDFs.

Fast facts:

  • PDF downloads of individual chapters are available.
  • Books are broken down by book chapter. You do not have to page through the whole book to get to a chapter.
  • Access titles through the ACLS Humanities E-Book link on the library's database tab or through the library catalog.
