Starting in the 1970s, The Third World Women’s Coalition (TWCC) gave women of color space on campus to gather to discuss their experiences and organize for change. In 1987 the group changed its name to the Coalition of Women of Color (COWOC). In 2017, after about ten years of inactivity, the organization reformed as Women of Color Plus (WOC+) which continues to be active on campus.
